Green DeWitt
Green DeWitt was born on February 12th 1787 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, ant at an early age his family moved to the Missouri Territory. He went to school in both Missouri and Kentucky and on his way back he fell in love with Sarah Seely, and on the 15th of December in 1808 they got married in St. Louis County, Missouri. DeWitt was a Sargent in the War of 1812 under Capt. John E. DeWitt later on got a grant from the Spanish to create a colony in Texas and settle 400 Anglo-Americans on the Guadalupe River. So in 1826 DeWitt, his wife, and three of his four children moved to Texas (The fourth one stayed behind to continue her studies but later on came to live with them). So in the end he became a very successful Empresario, and died later on in 1835.
